What pets do you treat?
Generally we can come out to see any pet to put it to sleep at home. This includes dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, chickens, exotics etc.
Do I need to be there when my pet is put to sleep?
No. The whole ethos of Last Wishes Mobile Vets is to make the process not only stress free for your pet but yourselves and the family too. Even though it is a difficult process, most owners prefer to stay with their pets to say goodbye at the end. If you do not want to be present, then please let us know and we will ensure that your wishes are acted upon. Even if you change your mind during the process then that's absolutely fine.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes we are able to offer payment plans but they are subject to a 5% extra charge on the total final cost (this is to cover fees set by a 3rd party provider). For further information on this please contact us.
What are the advantages to home euthanasia as opposed to their normal vets?
The main advantage is that the pet is comfortable in familiar surroundings embraced with love. Most (not all) pets already associate the vet with a negative experience, meaning they are already stressed before even entering the consultation room. At home they aren't anxious, and generally you as an owner will be less anxious too. At home also means you have more flexibility on time and days, but also any last wishes such as a special meal for your pet. It may be easier for those with mobility issues or disabilities too as everything can be done from home.
How can I deal with pet bereavement?
Grieving a pet can be similar to mourning the loss of a family member, no one should be belittled for their reaction to losing a pet . Even after your pet has passed away, clients are more than welcome to call us to talk or we can try to direct you to resources that are available. Mental health is an important issue to us here at Last Wishes Mobile Vet , not only for our clients but on a personal level as well. We are happy to announce that Gem has now completed her training with the at Blue Cross UK and is now an accredited pet loss support advisor. This means our clients will be able to book in a session with her (via online, telephone call or what's app) should they feel that they are struggling with the decision to put their pet to sleep or the loss of their pet. These sessions are completely free and confidential and will give clients the chance to discuss their struggles. Please get in touch for further information. We often have clients telling us they feel "silly" or that they are over reacting as it was "just a dog". Please remember that grieving the passing of a pet is completely normal and no one should feel ashamed for experiencing these emotions.
What payment methods do we accept?
We currently accept cash, card, bank transfer or we can send you a link via SumUp to pay online
